Great Room

Main entrance to the house opens into the great room. Vaulted ceilings with exposed timber trusses (8" square eastern white pine spaced 8 feet apart on center) are immediately visible. Prow of house faces mostly eastward with lots of glass exposing the Ohio River. Access to the wrap-around cantilevered deck from the great room is accomplished through two full-pane glass french doors at the prow. The anchor of the great room is the free-standing natural river-rock fireplace. This column begins with a fireplace in the basement and rises through the main level with a double sided fireplace in the great room.
