- Annual property taxes are about $2100.
- Average monthly electricity bill is less than $100.
- The house is heated and cooled by a high efficiency geo-thermal water furnace. There is no natural gas service, and none of the house's appliances use propane. Everything runs off electricity (hot water heater, water pump, washer/dryer, oven/stove, etc.)
- The house was designed and constructed with the latest eco-friendly "Green House" construction materials and methods. The walls are made from pre-insulated stressed-skin panels that have an R18 insulating value. The ceilings use a thicker stressed-skin panel with an R26 insulating value. The windows and doors are Andersen double-paned "e" model.
- The roofing is commercial grade standing-seam steel with the color baked onto the metal. This roofing is rated for 50 years.
- The flooring in the Great Room / Dining Area, and Kitchen is Antique Heart-Pine.
- Naturally soft rainwater is captured from the standing-seam steel roof and collected in a 23,000 gallon cistern located below half of the garage. The water is filtered and pressurized for house service. This is an excessive amount of water, and replenishes quickly due to the large surface area of the roof that captures the rainwater. City water mains were installed along the city road in 2008, but this homeowner sees no reason to tap into it. It is however, available as an option for a future home owner.
- Sewage is handled through a septic system.
- The driveway was paved in 2006.
- The garage is a large 30' x 30' square (less the 8' x 10' laundry room). It is considered a 2.5-car garage with ample room for a workshop. There is a carport attached to the west side of the garage with room for a truck or boat.
- The house has a central vacuum system (Vacu-Flow 560).
- Broadband DSL internet service is available through the phone line.
- Cable TV service is not available so we use DirecTV satellite service.
