Climbing (Horse Corrals) - July 12, 2008

Introduction note: I have had a growing interest in climbing some of the more technical peaks in Wyoming, but I have never really done any climbing. Our friends Marco & Lorna are avid climbers, and offered to literally show me the ropes. Northeast of Rock Springs is a sport climbing wall known as the Horse Corrals (due to the nearby old corrals used to round up wild horses). We were joined by Marc & Stephanie Newsom, also regular climbers. I enjoyed myself, but I must say that getting my 6'6", 215 lb. frame up a cliff on the ends of my fingers and toes is quite a challenge.
